Beamish Museum – the living museum of the North

I was offered tickets to Beamish Museum for the Festival of Steam and as both my parnter and myself love Beamish we just had to go. The festival ran over the weekend on April 9th -12th, but as we both came down with flu we had to go on the 12th Sunday which unfortunately for us after a week of high temperatures we got to go on probably the wettest day of the year so far. However this didnt dampen our spirits as we are regular visitors to Beamish and as its only 40 minute drive from where we live its always a great day out.

The friendly staff and volunteers dressed their costumes  always have a smile to share and offer any help or guidance, its wheelchair  friendly with exception to a couple of steep inclines, but Beamish run a trasport  service with access. Cost of Generic vardenafil

Our day started off with a tram ride into the town centre, as we now always head there first as the shops get busy you can buy fresh bread or old fashioned cakes, coconut haystacks and rockbuns to name a few and if you can resist the smell of fresh bread you must have no sense of smell, then onto the sweetshop for some old favourites. In the garage there was working steam models and all throughout the day different steam vehicles were driven through the town so

there was always something to see .  We then took a bus to the farm as we wanted to see if there were any new additions since we were last there, and werent disappointed as it was lambing season.

By this time we were soaked so headed back to the car park for a change of coats and picnic lunch then out to play with the camera looking around all the old steam powered vehicles that were in pristine condition, sadly there didnt seem as many as on previous dry days but still enough to keep any petrol head enthralled.

After another hour of so looking we decided it was time to go, we would of stayed later had we  not resembled drowned rats, but on a plus side we will be buying our tickets at our next visit as Beamish has something on most weekends during the season  and for £18.50 a ticket this gets you entry as many times as you wish to visit.”we will be back”
